As in the previous meeting of the Working Group, this time we started with the members of the Working Group with the current events in the institutions involved in the protection of women and their children. We continued our education through sensitization training on the issue of violence against women in partner relationships.

Among other things, the members of the Working Group we opened a discussion on the possibilities of help for clients who have experienced violence and repeatedly contact them, on the possibilities of help and support for the client and also on safe housing. We talked about the implemented and planned activities and also about the cooperation with the member institutions of the Working Group.

In the sensitization training part we continued with the members of the Working Group on the topic of myths and facts in the issue of violence against women, sharing experiences from their practice, we opened a discussion on the terms in relation to violence and explained the differences in the use of the terms.

We would like to thank the members of the working group for actively participating in the activities and for sharing their experiences from practice.

The project „We stand with women. We protect and support them!“ benefits from a 486 622 € grant from Norway through the Norway Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of 72 993 €.

The aim of the project is to increase availability of specialist counselling centres for women – survivors of intimate partner violence and their children in Kosice region by enhancing and increasing the quality of support services in the existing counselling centres in Košice, Michalovce and Spišská Nová Ves and establishing new counselling centres in Rožňava, Gelnica and Sobrance. At the same time, our aim is to make information about the counselling centres and help and support they provide more available to women in Košice region and to improve the response of institutions where women and children seek protection from violence The project is implemented by Fenestra in partnership with OZHANA and OZ Pomoc rodine.
